Starcraft: Brood War

I managed to pick up Starcraft: Brood War which is an expansion to Starcraft: The Board Game yesterday. I'm looking at putting together a game on Sunday (5th April) afternoon (hoping to start between 3-4pm). The game will likely last 3+ hours.

If you're interested in joining in this game please get in touch and let me know. Either use my contact form or post a comment here.

No Cavs this week (2009-02-12)

I've been told that there will not be a meeting this week. There is some other large event that is using the venue.

Make your own Hex Grid (space) based maps

I recently started working on a campaign for Full Thrust and needed a map. Space based hex grid was preferred. I started hunting for one and came across an app for generating hex grids.

mkhexgrid is pretty flexible. You can output the map in several different file formats, control the number of hexs, the colour, weight and opacity of the lines and you can add user defined coordinates to each hex (or each x hexes). There are more settings and options that I've not explored yet also.

Full Thrust Lite rulebook updated

I got an e-mail from Chris over the weekend. It lead to the newly formatted rule book for Full Thrust Lite. I have to say, it's pretty swish. The rules appear to be the same but the examples in the book are now much clearer.

I'm going to see if I can find an economical way to print this off in full colour. If anyone has access to a colour laser printer could you let me know?

I'll also see about getting some of the fleet sheets printed and laminated.

I've attached the files here but if you want to grab them from GZG you can from this link; http://tinyurl.com/c4mcwz

Full Thrust campaign test run

Progress is happening slowly on this. I've found myself swamped at work, but given my current situation I'm not minding that. It does mean I may be absent from the Club for a few weeks. Looking at billable hours extending into the evenings. I won't be there tonight either but that's due to a stag night for a friend getting hitched this weekend.

Buried in the Badlands

Date:
2009, March 7

The Story so far

The Border Princes and the region known as the Badlands, has always been a realm of bloodshed and war. From the tribes of greenskins that infest the lands, to the petty politics and conflicts within the Princedoms. Bones bleach in the sun as a testament of the countless and never ending battles. Peace is a word seldom heard and it’s not long before a new banner arises and the land is again thrown into strife...

Buried in the Badlands is a Warhammer Fantasy Battle Campaign Weekend.

Not going to make it tonight

Hey all,

I'm not going to make it tonight. Today is the anniversary of the death of a friend and colleague of Luci's so I'm going to be staying with her tonight.

On another note, I'm looking at starting the Full Thrust campaign soon.

Who is interested in playing in this game?

The "manual" can be found here.
