Extra Services on the site

Hey all,

I recently came across a micro-blogging system called Laconica which is the software that drives Identica. This is Free, Open Source Software and pretty much allows us to set up a local install of Twitter. The other thing that I like about this system is that it's distributed and you're able to "follow" people from any other system running Laconica. Also, the various supporting services actually work. i.e. Having posts delivered via IM and being able to post from IM.

Galleries

Does anyone have any photos from any recent events? I'm wanting to test the setup and management of galleries and figured the easiest way to do that would be by using a couple of real events.

Full Thrust Lite

Last night Chris introduced me to Full Thrust which is a starship combat game. People may have seen Chris playing it before. He's done a pretty good job modding some of the ships with LEDs where the thrusters would be. They look pretty cool.

Moving Forward 2008 6 Month Goals

Hi Guys
We had our Committee meeting a week ago and have based our next 6 month goals as such

Build Up Terrain specially in the area of Flames of war. We are also looking at accruing Terrain that can be used for things as Mordheim, Necromunda and can be used for WH40k,Fantasy and LOTR

We Plan to have 60+ paid memberships at the end of the next 6 months, with the attendance we are getting that shouldnt be a probelm. Anyone that is playing we have decided who isnt a member "donates" a gold coin to cover costs of the club

Site announced and Contact Details

It's been about an hour since I announced the site on the forums and there's already 2 new users. :)

I've also just added a number of extra fields to the User Profiles. Address and Phone are not publically visible but are for reference for the Committee and select members that may need access to them for organising events etc. At least they should be hidden away. :)
