FOG Conquest 2010
800pts lists from any book.
4 games over 2 days.
Probably 4 hours per game unless anyone wants less.
Brian is playing in the junior ancients competition (DBA) and has agreed to vet the lists.

GW are silly billies
I finally got around to popping into GW St Lukes to spend my $25 gift voucher from a competition earlier this year.
Although it says redeemable @ any GW store in NZ, the chap @ the counter had to check via phone with high command because it was stamped on the back with an aussie address. The powers that be decided it could not be accepted here but would be fine in Australia.
Now I am going to oz next month but I might have used it to wipe my arse before then . . .

The next Christchurch league
I'm looking at running another league soon, and I want to know what people would like to play in.
Do you want a competative league, with placings and prizes? A narrative league with story driven missions? A beginners league with low point values and steady growth to build armies and encourage new players? Maybe a league that's a bit different with special rules and oddball missions?
Please post and let me know what sort of league would inspire you to take part.

forum briefly offline this Saturday
The company that hosts the South Island Wargaming site is having a brief scheduled server outage on Saturday 4th September at 11am (NZ time).
This means you won't be able to access the forum at that time. They didn't say for how long but hopefully it won't be too big an inconvenience.

Blood Bowl at Conquest 2010
Chaos Bowl at Conquest 2010
News Flash! The Chaos Gods have overrun the ChriBBL Headquarters and taken charge for the Blood Bowl event at this years Conquest tournament and boy are they feeling fickle. Consequently, the punters & pundits are expecting the competition to be more organised and better run than normal.
When & where
Held at the Christchurch Cavaliers War Gaming Section, St Albans/ Shirley Club, 269 Hills Road, Labour Day Weekend on the 23rd & 24th Oct 2010. Bar and food service available.
Format
·Played under the Competition Rules set (LRB6).
·Slann, Underworld and Chaos Pact teams will be allowed.
·1,300k gold roster selection.
·Resurrection rules apply (roster reset after each match).
·Single skills can be purchased for 20k gold.
·Up to 2 players, each of a different position, may be given a Double skill or a second Single skill at a cost of 50k gold each. For example, You could not have:
a) 2 Orc Throwers with any Double skill each.
b) 2 Orc Throwers with any 2 Single skills each.
c) 2 Orc Throwers, one with any Double skill, one with any 2 Single skills.
To clarify, you may only take the second Single skill if your first skill is a Single.
·After pool play, teams will be ranked for playoffs by Points (3 for win, 1 for draw, 0 for loss, 1 for early roster submission), then a D6 will be rolled to determine the tie breakers as follows:
1-2: CAS dif, then TD dif, then dice off.
3-4: TD dif, then CAS dif, then dice off.
5: Most CAS, then most TDs, then dice off
6: Most TDs, then most CAS, then dice off.
·The following inducements are allowed: 0-3 Bribes, 0-1 Halfling Master Chef, 0-1 Wizard, 0-1 Star Players (correct model must be used if produced by GW, otherwise model must accurately represent Star Player and be significantly distinct from a normal player (Tourney Comish discretion used here, and I will be ruthless about this rule!).
·Team to be painted, rookie coaches may be given exemption here.
·The Winds of Chaos special rule applies (see below).
Schedule
3 matches on Saturday, 3 matches on Sunday. Actual pool/playoff format will depend on numbers. Kick-off will be at 9am each day.
Rosters
Submission of Roster prior to 16th of October will be awarded 1 point. Models must have same number as on roster and this number must be between 1 & 20.
Awards
· Chaos Bowl Championship for winning the damn thing!
· Champion of Khorne Award for Most CAS
· Champion of Slaanesh Award for Most TDs scored..
· Champion of Nurgle Award for Least TDs conceded.
· Champion of Tzeentch Award for most players turned into Chaos Spawn
Special Rule: Winds of Chaos
The Winds of Chaos are blowing full force for the Chaos Bowl, causing mass mutation amongst spectators & players!
1. Prior rolling for Weather at the start of each match, each player randomly selects a player using a D20 (rerolling if no player with that number, until a numbered player is rolled) this player has spontaneously mutated!!!
2. To determine which Chaos God bestows their gift on the lucky player, roll a D8 on the following table:
1-2 Tzeentch
3-4 Nurgle
5-6 Slaanesh
7-8 Khorne
3. Roll a D6 on the appropriate God table to determine mutation:
Tzeentch
1 Two Heads
2 Extra Arms
3 Sneaky Git
4 Strip Ball
5 Hail Mary Pass
6 +MA
Nurgle
1 Foul Appearance
2 Disturbing Presence
3 Thick Skull
4 Guard
5 Regeneration
6 +AV
Slaanesh
1 Claw
2 Tentacles
3 Dodge
4 Shadowing
5 Nerves of Steel
6 +AG
Khorne
1 Horns
2 Dirty Player
3 Frenzy
4 Piling on
5 Mighty Blow
6 +ST
4. This player has this skill until the end of the match unless
5. If the player already has a) the gifted skill, b) a Double skill, c) 2 Single skills or d) is a Star Player they mutate into in Gibbering Spawn until the next match and are unable to play. Fortunately, a lineman of the now defunct Halstad Hecklers is available to take his place for the match (Human Lineman with Loner skill, Ill provide the figure).
6. Chaos, Nurgle & Chaos Pact team players reroll the result once instead of being turned into a Gibbering Spawn (starting at Step 1.) but may not replace the player with a Halstad Heckler if the second result also results in a Gibbering Spawn.

Army lists
There are no restrictions on what your army consistes of for this event however the TO has the right to veto any list that he feels is over the top or silly.Your list must however be a legal build according to the Warhammer 8th rule book. Also remember that your list needs to be in the hands of the TO a full week before the event.
Sportsmanship (~25pts): After every game each player will answer the 5 questions similar to those listed below regarding their opponents sportsmanship attributes throughout the game. A player's tournament points for sports are calculated by their opponent's responses to these questions.
1.Regardless of the outcome of the battle did your opponent's behavior detract from your enjoyment of the game?
2.Were all rules queries resolved amicably and without too much argument?
3.Did your opponent try anything "dodgy" during the game in your opinion? ("Rubber Ruler", Intentions not stated prior to doing something - moving, shooting, charging etc). Anything at all that you would say was dodgy?
4.In your opinion, did your opponent play the game in the right spirit? Did they maintain a sensible approach and demeanor when things were not going their way?
5.Does your opponents army in your view avoid nasty tricks that their race could have taken ?
Painting (~15pts): You will be asked to mark your opponents painting at the end of the game on the following criteria:
1.Fully painted army 3 pts
2.Atleast half the models in the army are painted 2 pts
3.Under half the army is painted 1 pts
4. None of the army is painted 0pts
Scenarios
All five rounds will be a series of battle line missions. With the following additions :
Game 2 : All captured standards are worth double victory points.
Game 3 : Grudge match Once armies have being deloyed, each player nominates one of their heros or unit champions. When nominated each player then writes down an opposing players Hero or unit champion which is being grudged. If the grudged models fight in a combat challenge, then the winner gains an additional 250 victory points. Please note it is possible for one player to gain 500 victory points by winning both grudged combats, if they are different.
Game 4 : Capture Corners At the end of the battle, the player who has the unit worth the most points in each table quarter, gains an additional 100 victory points for each table quarter.
Game 5 : Kill the General If your general dies then your opponent gains an additional 250 victory points over and above the standard victory points for such a death.
