This book is going to start out as a transcription of the Full Thrust campaign system as presented in Full Thrust Second Edition. What I'm hoping to do is expand this system into something slightly larger and a little more detailed. The base campaign is fairly simple and is an attrition based campaign. Things start at a certain point and don't get any better. I invite anyone that is interested to participate in creating, criticizing, contributing and play testing this system. While access to edit the book is going to be limited to a short list of members, the comments will be turned on. What I'm hoping to build with this campaign system is a game engine that will allow for ship design and construction, repair of damaged ships and ship systems, supply routes, resource management and the facility to pull in other game systems to resolve different situations that aren't terribly suitable to the Full Thrust game system. |

Full Thrust Campaign System?
Have you ever slept in a room with a person who has sleep apnea? Their breath catches, and you find yourself holding your breath waiting for them to breathe again. The American comedian Bill Cosby did a routine on this in his early standup days.
Watching some threads are like that. Is this campaign proceeding? ;->=
I'm especially interested in any polishing you're doing on the campaign structure. I love bashing rules, and you can assume yours will be. However, in war, a plan lasts only until the first contact with the enemy. Games are a lot like that, too.
Of course, you may enjoy torturing this Yank; many folks do, but you can enjoy the fact you have my attention.
BTW, my one attempt at crafting a campaign that made it to players, though never finished, was using the old TSR Buck Rogers boardgame for an entirely intrasystem set of battles. I've posted a few of the files I handed out on the FullThrust Yahoo group, but can ship them to you if you've the least interest.
I always felt that the Traveller model of FTL-getting there was half the fun, that lumbering within the FTL limit was a proper campaign, or operation, if you will.
Thanks, and, as life permits, keep up the excellent effort!

Heh, I really need to check
Heh, I really need to check in here a lot more. :/ Been stupidly busy and haven't managed to get to the club in a few months.
The idea behind having this online is so that anyone can start the campaign should they chose too.
The other idea behind having it online is so that people can contribute to the ruleset as they see fit.
If you have any ideas for the ruleset, please post them. :) If you want to run a campaign please feel free to put your hand up for that too. :)
Now that you mention it though, getting a campaign running may actually be something I could do. I may not be able to get into the club to play, but running the campaign as a non-player would make me the perfect impartial judge...
