Hey all, I recently came across a micro-blogging system called Laconica which is the software that drives Identica. This is Free, Open Source Software and pretty much allows us to set up a local install of Twitter. The other thing that I like about this system is that it's distributed and you're able to "follow" people from any other system running Laconica. Also, the various supporting services actually work. i.e. Having posts delivered via IM and being able to post from IM. Have people heard of Twitter? Do people know what Micro-blogging is and what it's about? Would there be any interest in this? |
