Comics Compulsion presents its annual gaming event being held in conjunction with the Christchurch Cavaliers Wargames Club at the St Albans/ Shirley Club, 269 Hills Road, on Labour Weekend 25th –26th October 2008

Participate in one of the competition events (Registration Fee: $25.00) or put on a display game yourself. (Contact us if you wish to put on a game)

Competitions offered:

All competitions require a minimum of 8 competitors to guarantee it being run. If your competition is canceled you can enter another or receive a refund.
Warhammer Fantasy (1950 points)
Warhammer 40K (1750 points)
Flames of war (Late War 1500 Points)
Lord of the Rings (Two 750 point armies required)
Warmachine / Hordes (500 points)

Venue

Conquest is being held at the St Albans/ Shirley Club, 269 Hills Road.

The club entrance fronts on to Hills Road and is clearly sign posted. Drive over the small bridge and continue, keeping left, through to the large car park behind the club go through the main entrance doors and continue straight ahead, down the steps (or follow the ramp) and along the corridor.

Attendance Times

The hall will be open by 9:00 on Saturday for registration. Competition gaming should start no later than 9:30am and should go through to 5 or 6pm depending on the competition you have entered.

On Sunday Gaming will start at 9:30 am and all gaming including prize-giving should be finished by 5pm

Registration

An entry form is available at the end of this information. Entry fee is $25. All entries received by October 10th receive a free commemorative cap

There are limited spaces for each competition and entries will accepted on a first in first served basis. It is highly recommended you register as soon as possible to prevent disappointment.

Participants are required at the hall by 9:00am on the first day of the tournament to facilitate competition administration and to receive their free cap if eligible for one.

Food & Beverage

Assorted snack and hot food will be available on site, as will liquid refreshments including tea and coffee.

Behavior

A convention such as this involves a wide variety of age groups and temperaments, with this in mind please keep your behavior and language to a civilised manner. This includes your attire; if your t-shirt, jacket etc could cause offense please leave it at home.

Public Attendance

One of the main functions of this event is the promotion of the wargaming hobby. Because of this members of the public will be allowed access to the hall during gaming. Every effort will be made to greet visitors at the door with a brief explanation of gaming etiquette.

Even so we acknowledge that there may be some stupid and rude people coming through. We ask you as a participant to remain calm and polite and not to resort to violence no matter how tempting it may be.

Bring and Buy

There will be a table allocated in the hall for any items that competitors wish to offer on sale. Please mark items clearly with price and sellers name.
